Jose Mourinho has been fired as Roma manager with AS Roma ninth in Serie A.

The 60 year old Portuguese, came in May 2021 and took Roma to the Europa Conference League trophy a year after and the Europa League final in 2023.

However they are five points off Serie A's final Champions League qualifying mark and last week were dumped
out of the Coppa Italia
by city rivalsLazio.

Dan and Ryan Friedkin, Owners of A.S.Roma appreciated Mourinho for the zeal and dedication he has displaced
as boss.

We will at all times have great recollections of his stewardship, but we think that, in the finest
interests of the club, instant change is needed, they included in a statement.

Mourinho got a second straight red card in the Lazio loss and thereafter evaluated himself to Harry Potter, signifying his profile was raising hope for what Roma could attain.

That result was trailed by a 3-1 league loss by AC Milan on Sunday, which left Roma five points floating
of fourth-placed Fiorentina and resulted to his sack.

Triumph in the 2022 Conference League got Roma's first major European title and earned Mourinho gigantic
support among the club’s fan base.

Except after they were beaten on penalties by Sevilla in last season's Europa League final the Roma
took only five points from their first six Serie A matches in a meager
start to the present campaign.

Amid Roma 16th in the table, the ex Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Tottenham boss said
he had turned down the fanatical offer to depart last summer.

Mourinho's deal was due to finish at the close of the present season.
